About
I started my career in Costa Rica in 2007 and have spent the last nine years in Germany, where I grew from mid-level engineer to senior at samedi GmbH — a healthcare SaaS company. I was a core contributor to their Patient Portal product: a white-label, multi-tenant platform deployed across hospitals and clinics across Europe.
Before samedi, I built UIs at Backcountry.com — one of the largest outdoor e-commerce platforms in the US — and started my career at Grupo Nación in Costa Rica, one of Latin America's leading media groups.
I work across the full stack but I'm particularly strong in the Rails + React + TypeScript combination. I care deeply about clean architecture, performance, and making codebases that future engineers will thank you for.

Grew from mid-level to senior over 9 years at one of Germany's leading healthcare SaaS companies. Core contributor to the Patient Portal — a white-label, multi-tenant platform enabling hospitals and clinics to deploy branded appointment and communication portals. Led frontend efforts as one of the few engineers with TypeScript and React expertise on the team.

Built and maintained frontend experiences for one of the largest outdoor gear e-commerce platforms in the United States. Worked on performance, UI components, and customer-facing features at significant scale.

Collaborated closely with designers to build pixel-perfect, high-impact campaign experiences for globally recognised brands. A standout project was Yeah! — a Facebook campaign for AMC's The Walking Dead — a technically complex interactive experience that pushed the boundaries of what was possible on the platform at the time. This is where I developed the JavaScript foundations I still rely on today: design patterns, performance optimisation, and industry best practices.
